The U.S.A. has been trying for the longest time to include Georgia and Ukraine in the "western" NATO. If that happens, Russia will be simply be surrounded by enemies, and possibly the America "defense missiles system". I simple terms, Russia will be cornered.. and Russia as a super power, won't take that, so how could Russia scare the pants off the small ex-soviet countries? Simple, show your muscles. A very familiar style that Americans also use.
So Russia keenly built up this big show. Ossetia's majority always wanted a separation, and Russia wanted that too. If Ossetia is separated from Georgia, it will be under the Russian mercy and pretty much it will be a new independent-related part of Russia. SO Russia, gave thousands of people Russian nationality and this way if Georgia even thinks about attacking the area, Russia will jump in in order to protect its "citizens".
Mmmm, clever.. I guess now the lesson is loud and clear. Try to piss off Russia and join the west, and you will be broken down into small pieces and then bomb - the living you know what - out of you. Georgia is begging for cease fire now. All in my opnion to stop the evil NATO and USA from getting any closer, as well as, getting the sweet sweet black gold.
The president of Iran announced today that if the U.S.A and Israel won't stop their threats, the oil prices will rise even higher to a new levels. Iran produces and controls the flow of 40% of the world oil.
So America, are we going to get mature about this, or the oil tycoons would rather heat the situation up to make more money??
America, as supposedly responsible country, need to cool down the situation that got elevated recently because of American announcements that there could be a military action against Iran.
Iran also warned any neighboring countries from helping the U.S.A or Israel. This is just logical. A country is threatened to be attacked, and this country controls the nerve of the current civilization's energy: the oil.
All I can say is Iran is playing their aggressive tone down in a sign that there were just making a propaganda about attacking Israel. It is the time now for the U.S.A to back off too.
With all due respect to the American Israeli relationship, the American government will be sacrificing the stability of its own if a military attack takes place against Iran, whether we like it or not.
The cowboy need to chill out and become a gentleman with a suit, who cares for the well being of his people. There is so much the American people can take, but a gas over $5 per gallon!! this will be IT.
Many reports has been issued recently by different inspectors stating that there is not real solid evidence that Iran is working on a nuclear weapons of mass destruction. If you ask me personally, American can't even open its mouth about nuclear weapons anywhere around the world before it gets rid of its own. Lets not forget that the only nation in history that used the nuclear power in a destructive nuclear bomb, was American in Hiroshima. Do we have the guts to ask others to give away nuclear weapons!
Things are getting a little nuts all over the world. The minority is getting more rights and louder voice while the majority is cornered and silenced. I am not talking here about USA or UK only, but all over the world. Minorities are claiming discrimination, but they will have their own awards, parties and unions. Minorities will cry: "We are oppressed and discriminated against" and all the human rights and major international organizations like the EU or UN will run to the help of the poor poor minorities.
That's okay if there is really discrimination, but what I am seeing is that the minorities are trying to bully their way into the majorities cultures, alternating traditions and customs to fit their own. Actually, their force theirs into others in "in your face" sort of a way.
"Racism" is the secret word. They will yell it to a high heaven if needed. They break even the law sometimes and ask the authorities to change it, so it can fit their status and needs.
We are all human and we all have the same rights to live, but respecting the culture of the hosting country, regions or area is a must.
For minorities, always remember: You left your original home because you didn't like something about it. You moved to your new home because you like something about it. Don't contradict yourself, unless there is a hidden agenda!!
"America is the land of freedom and democracy therefore, it would love to spread the luxurious blanket of democracy all over the world. America wishes that all the world can enjoy democracy like her."
Doesn't this statement summarize what each and every American administration say about their foreign affairs goal? Yes, it does.
Now, let's use the active part of the head called "brain" and its related internal process called "logic", to see if democracy does actually exist inside America.
Where to start..... where?? Ah, I know. How about to start with the way Americans elect their president?
If you are a politically active American, who actually take a break from watching the TV at home or the bar; playing Wii or PS3, then you should know one thing: The president of the United States of America is not elected by direct vote. That means when a good, all American citizen votes at the polls for Mr. X to be a president, his vote will only be taken in consideration by the all mighty "Electoral college", but not necessarily affecting their decision. The "Electoral college" is who really elects the president of the United states of America, not the citizens. They may consider the popular vote " Popular vote is the majority vote" but that doesn't mean that they have to go with it. It is totally legal.
Also in America, there are only two political parties that control the whole carnival. The other parties and independents do exist in a nice, quite, useless sort of way. The monopolized media won't let them be recognized either. Democracy! Yea, right.
When "good bless him" Bush invaded Iraq, he was so democratic, wasn't he? He invaded Iraq despite all the opposition by the American people, and this resulted in spending billions of dollars and wasting thousands of American lives. He used lies and unconfirmed assumptions to invade and ruin another country. Is that the democracy we talk about!?
What type of democracy or freedom are we talking about when every opinion has to be politically correct. The political correctness is becoming a long list that limit freedom of speech.
Sometimes I wonder what is the dentition of democracy within the American administration. I guess it is: " Democracy is a political, social and financial variable that is fixed and decided by the current or previous American administration, regardless of what the unworthy citizens of the country or the world think."
While I was watching the news today, I came across a piece about the Los Angeles Gay pride parade. This is considered important time for homosexuals in California, due to the fact that a new law will take place this June, allowing gay marriage.
I am a person that has no problem with Civil unions. I think it is only fair to give civil unions the same rights of married couples, but not the same name. I've met in my life several gays and lesbians however, one type I couldn't bare: the " In your face, I am gay" type.
I can't handle the ones who go out in the so called "Gay Pride parade". What pride are you talking about? Being gay is just a sexual preference. It won't make you a partiot, champion or civil right activist!! It is a bit over the top. Should straight people go out in the street celebrating their sexy times!! No. I have no problem if you are gay and have a partner. I have no problem if you are into a civil union with a partner and kids.. this is all fine but what isn't is walking in the street dressed like women, or wearing a revealing clothes that offend most normal people. This kind of public display does only one think: Make people who are on the fence against the whole idea of homosexuality.
There is a difference between a demonstration asking for gay rights, and a confusing public pornographic display of sexual awkwardness.
"We have won the war in Iraq." Brilliant Mr. Bush said.
Mr.Bush, I am sorry to disappoint you, but we haven't won a jack. Let's be frank with each other boss, can we be frank? We went inside Iraq for one real reason: The sweet sexy black gold. You call it in Texas "Oil".
The prices at the gas pump are the biggest evidence sir. We spent billion of dollars, and even more important, thousands of lives, just for the oil, and we have failed. Where is the Iraqi oil going?! I am quite sure there will never be an honest answer to it. Probably your administration and the confusing commercial media, will take us in circles and circles to end up nowhere.
Sad really, we've destroyed a country than nestled a great culture for thousands of years. Saddam may be a dictator or blood thirsty monster, according to early White house reports, but funny .. or sad enough, more people were killed since USA, UK and their allies invaded Iraq, than in Saddam's time.
Some came to the conclusion that oil prices are going up because of the OPEC countries. They are mostly Arab, Anti-American countries, that will love to see all the western world suffer. That could be right, but can you blame them? America uses its muscles ( the armed forces) and the Arabs use their oil. Fair game.
The thing is we knew it was coming. Oil is a non-renewable source of energy. Many scientist kept screaming "find cheap alternative fuels" but the American administration never listened. Most of Capital Hill found "Alternative fuels" a fancy expression. The oil lobby found it a scary one. Well, good job both of you.
If the gas prices keep going up, the first nation in the world to suffer, will be America. People drive miles and miles per day. A life without a car in most states, means the end of living. You can't go to work or the market without a car. The public transportation network in most USA states, are as good as our management of the Iraqi war. The
media keep suggestion that people should use bicycles or public transportation in America and limit their usage of private cars. Bicycles in America!! Some people commute 20 miles one way to get to work? Are they suppose to paddle that far everyday !
Anyway, what should America do? America need to save all that mad money getting spent in Iraq, and use it to subsidize the cost of gas. This is the least a country can do in tough times to help its citizens, who usually pay their taxes on time and work as hard as slaves. Meanwhile, we need to pay some scientist to come up with fast and efficient alternative to oil, regardless of all the none sense the oil lobby and interest groups will come up with. Having a brain is a blessing.
